Soil Conditioners

Soil conditioners are materials added to soil to improve its structure and overall health. Although soil conditioners may provide some nutrients like a fertilizer, the primary role of a soil conditioner is to enhance the soil’s ability to support plant growth by altering its texture, improving moisture retention, aeration, increasing nutrient availability, and promoting healthy root development.

In the U.S., regulatory oversight is provided by state Departments which require soil conditioners to undergo a registration process.
